About Our Family

A little bit of Costa Rica in Bonita Springs — since 2014.

Our story

Dishing Out Pura Vida Since 2014

In Costa Rica, the scarlet macaw — the lapa roja — is a symbol of everything vivid and alive about our home. When our family opened Lapa's in Bonita Springs in 2014, we wanted to share exactly that: a little piece of Costa Rican culture, served one plate at a time.

Everything here is family — the recipes, the hands that cook them, the faces that greet you. Our gallo pinto, casados, chifrijo and tres leches are made the way they're made back home: fresh, from scratch, without shortcuts.

Delicious. Fresh. Authentic.

What makes us, us

Small Kitchen. Big Flavor.

We're not a big restaurant, and we like it that way. A cozy 60-seat dining room means every table gets real attention — and a small kitchen means every dish is made to order.

  • Naturally gluten-free — most of our menu, by tradition, not by trend.
  • Fresh juices & Tarrazú coffee — straight from Costa Rica's most famous coffee region.
  • Tripadvisor Travelers' Choice — and Certificates of Excellence year after year.
